Annual Suicides

*There are over 47,100 deaths by suicide per year. That is 129 per day, with 22 of those being military suicides. A death, roughly, every 7 hours.   

Suicide cost Colorado, alone, a total of $1,053,409,000 combined lifetime medical and work loss cost in 2010, or an average of $1,217,814 per suicide death.

Social & Government Spending

*With government and social programs/groups,the cost to the public is $69 Billion for suicides and self injury. That does not include the cost to the actual families of suicide victims.

Funeral/Burial Expenses

*Funeral costs range from $1,500 - $40,000, with the average cremation and funeral service being $7,000. This leaves families with a monthly payment of around $350 per month. A MONTHLY REMINDER of their loss. There is no other Foundation that helps the families left behind, financially, so this is a Foundation the first of its kind.

Scene Cleanup

 Scene clean up is an expense to the family, that is not covered by insurance.

These costs range from $1,000-$6,000. If the family does not have the funds, they must clean the site themselves.
